OnePlus 8T receives an OxygenOS 184.108.40.206 update with some software optimizations and improvements to the camera. The update is currently being rolled out in North America and is expected to hit European markets shortly. In particular, India will not receive this particular update. OnePlus also added the OnePlus Store app to the smartphone, mentioning that it can be uninstalled if users don’t want to. The OnePlus 8T was launched in October 2020 and came out-of-the-box with Android 11.
OnePlus 8T Update Changelog
OnePlus announced in the forum that the OnePlus 8T (Review) will receive the OxygenOS 220.127.116.11 update. The update brings some system-wide stability improvements and fixes for known problems. It also fixes the issue where the screen would blink when taking pictures in Nightscape mode. OnePlus also added the OnePlus Store app, which allows users to manage their OnePlus account, get easily accessible support, get member-only benefits, and buy OnePlus products.
The firmware version for the North American market is 18.104.22.168.KB05AA and for the European market is 22.214.171.124.KB05BA. OnePlus didn’t mention why the update isn’t rolling out in the Indian market. There is no mention of the size of the update, but users should still update their smartphone while it is connected to a strong Wi-Fi connection and charging. The update is carried out incrementally and should automatically reach authorized OnePlus 8T smartphones over-the-air. To manually check for the update, go to Settings> System> System Updates.
OnePlus 8T specifications
The OnePlus 8T was launched in October 2020 and ran on Android 11-based OxygenOS 11. It has a 6.55-inch Full HD + (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) Fluid AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and an aspect ratio of 20: 9. It is powered by a Snapdragon 865 SoC paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of onboard storage. It contains a 4,500 mAh battery that supports Warp Charge 65 fast charging.
For the optics, it has a quad rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 5-megapixel macro sensor and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. Selfies and video calls are processed by a 16 megapixel primary sensor located in the hole punch cutout.
